Health Services and Health of the Public Research
A long term aim of CSO is to improve the skills base in Health Services and Health of the Public Research within NHSScotland and so facilitate the development of knowledge-based practice. CSO offers research training opportunities at pre and postdoctoral levels to individuals who wish to pursue a career in research in a health care related field or who would like to build on their research skills.

Primary Care
CSO offers Primary Care Research Career Awards for postdoctoral candidates from a Primary Care background who are still practising clinically.
