Health Science Scotland (formerly know as the Scottish Academic Health Sciences Collaboration) represents a national platform for patient-oriented research. It builds upon the close NHS and academic partnerships already existing in the cities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow and through these to other Health Boards and universities in Scotland.

Health Science Scotland is benefitting from a significant investment by
CSO in NHS research infrastructure through the NRS infrastructure funding
stream. This funds approximately 250 whole-time-equivalent posts dedicated
to supporting leading-edge clinical research across the partner organisations.
The investment is targeted at supporting increased capacity and capabilities
in a broad range of areas including imaging, pharmacy, research nursing,
tissue bio-repositories and information technology.
Further information on Health Science Scotland including contacts can be
found at the HSS
