Today, the Chief Scientist Office and the Stroke Association celebrate a partnership that will build on the excellence of stroke research in Scotland.  It is hoped that their joint investment in two new research awards will help establish and support the next generation of stroke research leaders in Scotland and build on a priority area in stroke research.

Dr Dale Webb, Director of Research at the Stroke Association said:

“We are delighted to be working with the Chief Scientist Office on two such significant awards.  We hope that the Senior Clinical Lectureship in stroke research will help build the capacity we critically need and establish the future leaders of stroke research in Scotland, and that the Priority Programme Award will help increase the evidence available around stroke-related psychological problems.”

Dr Alan McNair, Senior Research Manager from the Chief Scientist Office said:

“Stroke researchers in Scotland have high status and are well recognised and respected internationally.  The Chief Scientist office is committed to sustaining and building Scotland’s talented researchers.  By joining forces with the Stroke Association, we have strengthened our commitment towards improving stroke research outcomes in Scotland.”
