ESRC Longitudinal Studies Review 2017

Posted by: Julie Simpson - Posted on:

The Longitudinal Studies Review 2017 will explore the studies’ continued and future scientific relevance, sustainability, and contribution to the wider portfolio of data and longitudinal research resources in the UK and internationally. It will assess the continuing social and interdisciplinary scientific need for ESRC longitudinal studies and consider how longitudinal investments individually and collectively should be positioned to meet the needs of future interdisciplinary research challenges.

The review starts with a consultation and runs throughout 2017, reporting to the ESRC in the middle of 2018.

The consultation will allow ESRC to gain input on the key scientific questions, and methodological and technological issues that ESRC longitudinal investments should focus on or address in the future.

The consultation launched on 3 October and will close on 4 November. ESRC will share key messages from the consultation before the end of 2016. Learning from the consultation will form the basis of a Scientific Needs Workshop, planned for early 2017, which will identify key future needs for longitudinal resources.

For more information and to participate in the consultation please see the ESRC website.
