Joint Funding Call with British Lung Foundation

CSO are delighted to announce a joint funding call with the British Lung Foundation.

Preliminary applications are invited for support of research into lung disease. The lead applicant must have a tenured post at a Scottish University, NHS hospital or research institute.

Eligible applications must cover biomedical research (including laboratory, clinical, epidemiological and/or palliative care research) that addresses questions of clinical importance relevant to the Scottish population and is broadly translational.  ‘Translational’ is defined as having a clear pathway to patient benefit.

Applications should also address a research question that falls within one or more of the British Lung Foundation’s strategic priority areas:

  • Mesothelioma
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Lung cancer
  • Interstitial lung disease (ILD, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis)
  • Paediatric respiratory conditions (including infections and wheezing)

Preliminary application deadline: 1 February 2016
