As a previous conference delegate, we are delighted to inform you registration is now open for the 2017 NHS Research Scotland Annual Conference.

Now in its sixth year, the annual conference is firmly established as Scotland’s leading clinical research conference, bringing together delegates across NHS, academia, industry and third sector. Join us in 2017 at our new venue – Perth Concert Hall – to celebrate Scotland’s dynamic research environment, explore cutting edge science and consider how we translate our research into improved care for patients across NHS Scotland and beyond.

With the theme of Realistic Medicine: The Value and Impact of Research and Innovation we are delighted to welcome over 40 expert speakers to the conference including:

  • Ricky Verrall, Head of Chief Scientist Office, Scottish Government
  • Dr Catherine Calderwood, Chief Medical Officer, Scottish Government
  • Professor Robert Steele, Head of Cancer Research Division & Professor of Surgery, University of Dundee
  • Professor Peter Connelly, Clinical Research Champion, NRS Dementia and Neuroprogressive Network
  • And many more expert clinicians, research fellows and representatives from NHS, industry, patient and charity groups.

Based on delegate feedback, we are also delighted to introduce a new conference format featuring panel discussions, speed presentations and facilitated poster viewing; in addition to a variety of topical parallel sessions. A copy of the programme is available via the conference website. Please review then make your parallel selection choice online. We do encourage early registration as the conference is frequently oversubscribed.

There are also a number of other opportunities to get involved in the conference and share your work across the clinical research community.

Abstract Submission

The conference presents an opportunity for those involved in clinical research to showcase expertise, good practice, and new or innovative projects within their organisation. Abstracts are encouraged from across the research community with additional opportunities to share positive work incorporated into the 2017 conference programme. Review guidance and submit by 5pm on Wednesday 27 September.

Exhibition Opportunities

The conference exhibition provides a great opportunity to engage with delegates and promote your work to the research community in Scotland. For 2017, additional time has been incorporated into the programme for delegates to browse the exhibition area and network with key stakeholders. Review exhibitor information and book early as spaces are limited.

Further information on all aspects of the conference will be made available via the conference website and you can stay up to date via twitter using #NRSConf17. We hope you will join us in 2017 and look forward to another inspiring conference.
