HIPS Commitee – New Members Wanted

The Chief Scientist Office is looking to recruit new members to its research funding Committee: Health Improvement, Protection and Services Research (HIPS) Committee. Expressions of interest are invited from established clinical academic researchers based within Scottish Universities or Health Boards in the following areas:

  • general practice,
  • psychiatry,
  • geriatrics, and
  • paediatrics.

The committee is not looking to recruit in other areas currently, and expressions of interest in other areas are not invited at this time.

The committee meets twice per year in Edinburgh.

If you are interested in becoming a Committee member, please email a letter to Tom Barlow which sets out your particular expertise in terms of subject areas, discipline, research experience, and any relevant experience gained from other committees.  Decisions on membership are taken by CSO, in consultation with the Committee Chair and Vice-Chair.
