Ph.D. Studentship in biomedical research in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis

The Scottish Government is committed to ensuring that people in Scotland living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) are able to access the best possible care and support.

This commitment includes recognition of the importance of research in increasing our understanding of M.E., and in the development of new and effective approaches to diagnosis and treatment of the condition.

The Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office and Action for M.E. are pleased to announce a joint funding call for Scottish Universities to host a Ph.D. studentship in biomedical research into the underlying aetiology, diagnosis or treatment of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. Funding of up to £90,000 for a 3 year studentship. It is expected that this will cover the student’s stipend, Ph.D. registration fees, research costs and a modest travel budget for attending scientific symposia.
