Help define the research leadership role of Public Health Scotland

Posted by: Julie Simpson - Posted on:

As part of the programme to create a new national agency – Public Health Scotland – a project is underway to define the agency’s public health research leadership, innovation and applied evidence functions.  The project team leading this work wishes to explore what the developing proposals would mean for those who are directly involved in either creating evidence through research or applying such evidence to improving and protecting the health and wellbeing of Scottish people.

A stakeholder event will be held on 30 January 2019 (COSLA Building, Verity House, 19 Haymarket Yards, Edinburgh. EH12 5BH)

Anyone who has an interest in how Public Health Scotland will create, support, and develop the use of research and evidence for public health is encouraged to attend the event.  The event is aimed primarily at those who have had any previous involvement in this work, but who may consider themselves to be an “end user” of research and evidence in undertaking public health activities.

If you would like to attend, please register using the Eventbrite link. The closing date for registration is 25 January 2019.

To inform this project further, the Short Life Working Group for the project are developing a core document outlining the academic contribution to research on population health.  If this relates to you, please contact ann conacher with details of your organisation, the research you undertake and your contact details.

Further details on the project and its work so far, can be found on the ScotPHN website
