CSO is delighted to announce a joint call with the charity Wellbeing of Women to jointly fund one or more project grants. Applicants can apply for up to £200k, the total amount available under this joint funding call for awards is £400k.

This call will cover laboratory, health and translational research in the field of women’s reproductive or gynaecological health, to include problems in one of the following three areas: Pregnancy, Birth and the postpartum period; General wellbeing surrounding women’s health issues; and Gynaecological cancers. Proposed work must be addressing a clinical or patient need and have clinical relevance within 5 years from the end of the project.

We are particularly encouraging applications in one of the following priority themes:

  1. Menopause
  2. Studies using routinely collected data which are addressing any women’s reproductive or gynaecological health theme e.g. using data to generate prediction models to personalise care
  3. Urogynaecology, specifically looking at:
    • Innovative methods for assessment of women with urinary incontinence
    • Long-term outcomes for surgery for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and pelvic organ prolapse (POP)

Projects will be identified in open competition as part of a response mode round managed by Wellbeing of Women. Applications for joint funding will be from lead applicants based at recognised Scottish Universities or NHS Boards. Collaborative applications from within Scotland are welcome, although the grant (and associated funding arrangements) will be with the lead applicant’s institution. Named academic/clinical collaborators will be permitted from outside Scotland (or from outside the rest of the UK), but the lead applicant must be a salaried member of staff at a Scottish University or NHS Board.

Wellbeing of Women will administer the application peer review process. For more information and details of how to apply please visit the  Wellbeing of Women website.
