National Research Network Clinical Lead Appointment – Pain

The Chief Scientist Office is looking to appoint a National Research Network Clinical Lead for Pain.

The remit of this role is to support the effective delivery of research projects in the corresponding topic area in the NHS Research Scotland (NRS) portfolio, including increasing the number of patients enrolled into trials. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the corresponding NRS Portfolio Manager, together with established groups, individual clinicians, NRS Research & Development Directors and lay representatives to promote, deliver and develop Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) activity in the area, and with CSO on wider NRS strategic initiatives. A key aspect of the role will be to work with CSO and NHS Research Scotland Central Management to ensure the resilience and growth of the NRS portfolio.

The network employs staff working across a number of territorial NHS Boards, and the post holder will have a role in staff management and development.

The post holder will be an established clinician resident and working in Scotland and must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in clinical and/ or wider health research activity within the relevant topic area.

Hours: 0.1FTE/ 1PA per week

Salary: Pro-rata within the post holder’s pay scale

Length: 3 years in the first instance, with the possibility to extend for a further 2 years
