About the Public Engagement Group

We are looking to appoint new members to our Public Engagement Group. The main role of our group is to provide a lay perspective on the activities of CSO and ensure the public view is taken into account in relevant policy and funding issues.

The group currently meets virtually, 3-4 times per year for group information events. In addition, members are normally appointed by the Chief Scientist to one of the various CSO Committees, Fellowship Panels or Groups. Members attend these meetings to provide a lay perspective and to ensure that the outcomes of discussions are transparent and fair.

Individuals are also asked to partake in particular tasks such as reviewing CSO documentation – particularly final project reports – to ensure these can be understood by the lay person, or attending additional events or activities which CSO may be involved in.

Further information on the work of the Public Engagement Group can be found here.
