Publication of Primary Care model Clinical Trial Agreement

A new standard agreement for speeding up pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry-sponsored clinical research conducted in General Practice has now been published.

This model agreement has been developed by the UK Health departments in collaboration with the ABPI and BIA, a number of highly research-active General Practitioners (GPs), the British Medical Association and the Medical Protection Society.

The launch of this new agreement is another positive step to develop the NHS as a world class environment for health research, and its development demonstrates the willingness of GPs to collaborate on reducing the barriers to clinical research.

The Scottish Primary Care mCTA and accompanying guidance can be found on the UKCRC website.
